December 22, 2023 Saluting the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and the conclusion to the saga of the DC Extended Universe, by taking you back to when the Justice League's cinematic future was still promising. Travel back to Ace Comic Con Long Island, on December 10th, 2017, for part two of a panel with the cast of Justice League. In front of a capacity crowd at the Nassau Coliseum, Jason Momoa, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, and Ray Fisher discuss their feelings about a potential team-up or battle with Marvel's Avengers, what they wanted to bring to their portrayals of the iconic DC heroes and how they wanted to develop them in future films, and their feelings about meeting the fans, especially children. Plus, Patrick Thomas' "Dear Cthulhu" answers a letter from a young man who is too traumatized to drive a car.



December 15, 2023 Remembering the late television producer Marty Krofft with the season one theme from "The Krofft Supershow." Christina M. Rau reads her poem "Mapping the Gnomes." Preparing for the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and the end of the DC Extended Universe with part one of a two-part panel, with the cast of Justice League: Jason Momoa, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, and Ray Fisher assembled in front of a live audience at Ace Comic-Con Long Island, on December 10, 2017, to share stories about making the movie and how they felt about bringing the iconic DC heroes to life.

December 8, 2023 Author and Stony Brook alumnus J. H. Nadler returns to the WUSB studio for his third live appearance, to discuss his latest novel The Books of Alexandrea, Book 3: The Library. October 27, 2023 In its extra-length 41st annual Halloween Special, Destinies celebrates the 85th anniversary of The Mercury Theater on the Air's broadcast of "War of the Worlds" with the debut of music from a new, heavy metal interpretation of the material, from the band Insensate Machine. The band's lead vocalist, and the album's writer and producer Billy Davis returns to the WUSB studio to discuss the project and introduce selections from the album. Learn about how Billy worked on this album for more than 30 years, before finally releasing it in 2023. Find out which elements of the classic broadcast most inspired the music, and how excerpts from the radio show were incorporated into the album. And discover where you can see Insensate Machine performing live in the near future.



October 20, 2023 At the Long Island Doctor Who 60th anniversary convention, Howard Margolin speaks with Katy Manning, who played the Third Doctor's assistant, Jo Grant. You'll learn about her friendship with Jon Pertwee, her feelings about reprising the role of Jo, almost 50 years after leaving the series, and her extensive career on stage, television, and audio. Patrick Thomas' "Dear Cthulhu" answers a letter from a man who has developed a new form of lie detector. Christina M. Rau reads her poem "When the Mermaids Come Out to Play." Actor Mark Goddard is remembered with a memory of his time filming "Lost in Space," and actress Phyllis Coates is memorialized with the themes from "Superman and the Mole Men," and "The Adventures of Superman."



October 13, 2023 Allan Asherman, author of The Star Trek Compendium, who died on September 22nd, at the age of 76, is remembered with an encore of an interview conducted by John Cornetto in 1988. Then, John Madonia reviews Asherman's The Star Trek Interview Book. Jumping ahead to 2015, Allan Asherman recalls his association with DC Comics' editor Julius Schwartz in his capacities as Julie's assistant and as DC's official librarian in the 239th edition of "Graphic Detail." In honor of the birthday of Chris Carter, Dwight Schultz and Nana Visitor analyze the first season episode "Miracle Man," in an installment of "The Unofficial X-Files Companion," by N.E. Genge.

September 22, 2023 An extra-length, special presentation of the Destinies Radio Theater, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the new audio drama mini-series "Anne Manx: Beginnings," from the Radio Repertory Company of America, featuring a live phone interview with writer Larry Wiener and producer, engineer, and composer Angelo Panetta. August 18, 2023 The Destinies Radio Theater presents a 68-year slipback, taking you to the planet Landro, where, following an ill-fated first expedition, the second expedition team faces the accidental destruction of the serum the Earthmen need in order to immunize themselves from an indigenous plague, a plague from which the natives are immune, but which is deadly to Earthmen. In trying to get the natives to divulge the secret of their immunity, they fail on all counts, the Earthmen’s condescending, arrogant attitude toward the natives not the best of diplomatic approaches. Bret Morrison, best known as "The Shadow," stars in "Courtesy," as aired on the August 18th,1955 episode of "X Minus One."



August 11, 2023 Long Island Doctor Who convention showrunner Ken Deep materializes in the WUSB studio for an up-to-the-minute full-length preview of what he calls L.I. Who 60, to be held from August 18-20, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the world's longest-running science fiction television show. Learn about the guests who span the history of Doctor Who, including Paul McGann, Sacha Dhawan, Frazer Hines, Katy Manning, Michael Troughton, John Peel and many more, including Blake's 7 actress Jan Chappell. You'll hear about the panels and events scheduled for the convention, including a screening of the documentary Doctor Who Am I, a concert by Cat Smith, the photo opportunities with the celebrities, the announcement of the author line-up for the new book The Companions of Doctor Who, and FrazerCon 4.



August 4, 2023 Preparing for the release of The Last Voyage of the Demeter with the Destinies Radio Theater presentation of "Terror in the Snow," adapted from the story in Marvel's "Tomb of Dracula" #19 written by Marv Wolfman. Dracula and his nemesis, Rachel Van Helsing, are lost in a winter storm in the Transylvanian Alps. Will they work together to survive, or kill each other, as they have always tried to do? Patrick Thomas' "Dear Cthulhu" answers a letter from a clown who is being stalked by a groupie. Christina M. Rau reads her poem "Ganymede Has a Party." And, learn the next group of nominees for the 2023 Hugo Awards.



July 28, 2023 Saluting the release of Disney's Haunted Mansion with a full-length presentation of the "The Story and Song from the Haunted Mansion" on the Destinies Radio Theater. Travel back to 1969, when the original attraction opened at Disneyland, as two teenagers, Mike, played by Ron Howard, and Karen, played by Robie Lester, are walking home from a date, and get caught in a rainstorm. They seek shelter inside the Haunted Mansion, and experience a real-life version of the ride, meeting some of the mansion's best-known inhabitants, including the Ghost Host, the Raven, and Madame Leota. Will Mike and Karen escape? And will anyone believe what they went through? Plus, learn about the first set of nominees for the 2023 Hugo Awards.



July 21, 2023 The Voice of Science Fiction remembers writer and Oscar-winning actor Alan Arkin (3/26/34-6/29/23), with songs from Arkin's 1983 super-hero musical The Return of Captain Invincible. Plus, you'll hear Dale Grothmann's reading of "Whiskaboom," a short story written by Alan Arkin, published in the August,1955 issue of Galaxy Science Fiction magazine. In honor of the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, the Destinies Radio Theater presents "The Ewoks Join the Fight." May 19, 2023"Graphic Detail" # 237 Honoring the memory of writer and transgender activist Rachel Pollack, who died of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma at the age of 77 on April 7th, with part one of a two-part encore of an interview recorded at I-Con 14. Rachel Pollack, then fresh off her two-year run as writer of DC Comics' Doom Patrol, discussed her work on the title, including how she inherited the writing reins from the legendary Grant Morrison; how she created comics' first transgender super-hero, Coagula; how she responded to the criticism of her work being called "weirdness for weirdness' sake," and some of her most memorable stories for Doom Patrol. You'll also hear about her early encounters with Neil Gaiman, her long-time interest in the Kabbalah and Tarot, and her writing of the Vertigo Tarot Deck.

The Destinies Radio Theater celebrates the 90th anniversary of the Lone Ranger with the story of his origin in "Ambush at Bryant's Gap."
