DESTINIES - THE VOICE OF SCIENCE FICTION
airs on Fridays at 11:30 PM on WUSB, 90.1 FM, the radio station of the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Hundreds of writers, artists, editors, actors, producers, directors, and musicians have appeared on the program since its debut in April, 1983. Regular features include: the Destinies Audiobook Sampler, Soundtrack Spotlight, Graphic Detail, the Destinies Radio Theater, Christopher DeFilippis' "DeFlip Side," Patrick Thomas' "Dear Cthuhlu," and convention updates and highlights, as well as host Dr. Howard Margolin's flawless interviews.

December 2, 2016 Past Destinies guests Glenn Hauman, Aaron Rosenberg, Inge Heyer, and Keith R.A. DeCandido reflect on the 50th anniversary of "Star Trek" at Shore Leave 38. Phil Merkel speaks to the team that restored the U.S.S. Enterprise model for the Smithsonian Institution. In memory of Gene Wilder, the Destinies Radio Theater presents part one of "Young Frankenstein."

October 28, 2016 The Voice of Science Fiction joins in WUSB's Hip-Hop Marathon for the seventh time, with an hour-long concert by comedy rap artist Devo Spice, recorded at I-Con 31. In this nerdcore set, Devo Spice performs songs about tech support, Spam, Facebook, CGI, Dead Rappers, Snoopy, Doctor Who, airport flight checks, his "Inner Voice," and even the eternal battle of Mac vs. P.C. Plus, Destinies host Howard Margolin sings guest vocals on "Pac-Man." A Radiothon special. Pledge to receive a copy of the Sudden Death CD "Fatal Error," or any one of 227 other premiums.



October 21, 2016 Destinies' 34th annual Halloween Special features a 70-year slipback as the Destinies Radio Theater presents "Death's Goblet," originally aired on the October 21, 1946 episode of "Murder at Midnight."



October 14, 2016 In a live phone interview, actress, activist, and author Claudia Christian returns for her fifth appearance to discuss and read an excerpt from her new novel "Wolf's Empire: Gladiator."



October 7, 2016 The Voice of Science Fiction's salute to the 50th anniversary of "Star Trek" concludes with Christopher DeFilippis learning how to boldly let go in volume 2, number 174 of "DeFlip Side." Plus, Phil Merkel interviews actor Michael Forest (Apollo in "Who Mourns For Adonais?") and presents an excerpt from a panel with Forest and actress Barbara Bouchet (Kelinda in "By Any Other Name"), recorded at Shore Leave 38.

Jerry Doyle discusses his experiences on "Babylon 5" in an excerpt from "Have You Seen My Country Lately?" on the Destinies Audiobook Sampler. Christopher DeFilippis responds to listener comments in volume 2, number 173 of "DeFlip Side." Phil Merkel interviews actor Michael Trucco at Shore Leave.
