DESTINIES - THE VOICE OF SCIENCE FICTION
airs on Fridays at 11:30 PM on WUSB, 90.1 FM, the radio station of the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Hundreds of writers, artists, editors, actors, producers, directors, and musicians have appeared on the program since its debut in April, 1983. Regular features include: the Destinies Audiobook Sampler, Soundtrack Spotlight, Graphic Detail, the Destinies Radio Theater, Christopher DeFilippis' "DeFlip Side," Patrick Thomas' "Dear Cthuhlu," and convention updates and highlights, as well as host Dr. Howard Margolin's flawless interviews.

December 4, 2015 Continuing the countdown to the release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," the Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on John Williams and Joel McNeely's score for "Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire." Learn what happened in between "A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes Back" in part one of "Star Wars: Rebel Mission to Ord Mantell," written by Brian Daley, on the Destinies Radio Theater. And, to prepare for the return of "The X-Files," Dwight Schultz discusses the first season episode "Lazarus" in an installment of "The Unofficial X-Files Companion," by N.E. Genge.

  

November 27, 2015 Beginning the countdown to the release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," the Destinies Radio Theater presents an adaptation of the original "Star Wars." And, the Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on John Williams' score for "Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith." Plus, Christopher DeFilippis celebrates the 45th anniversary of Russia's Lunakhod 1 mission in volume 2, number 166 of "DeFlip Side."

  

November 20, 2015 Live telephone interview with composer Blake Neely, who returns for his second appearance to discuss and introduce selections from his scores for "Arrow: Season Three" and "The Flash: Season One." You'll also learn how he manages to score the new seasons of "Arrow" and "The Flash," as well as "Blindspot" and "Supergirl" simultaneously.



November 13, 2015 Joining in WUSB's sixth annual Hip-Hop Marathon with a one-hour concert by comedy rap artist Devo Spice, recorded at I-Con 31. This nerdcore set features songs about cell phones, video games, work, aging, earworms, "Phineas & Ferb," "Doctor Who," and even the state of rap music. November 6, 2015 Saluting the release of the new James Bond film "Spectre" with a Soundtrack Spotlight on John Barry's music for "Diamonds Are Forever," and "The Spy Who Loved Me" on the Destinies Radio Theater. Plus, "Graphic Detail" # 203: Murphy Anderson Memorial, featuring an encore presentation of an interview with the artist recorded at I-Con 17, and remembrances by former DC staffers Bob Rozakis and Bob Greenberger.

    

October 30, 2015 Destinies' 33rd annual Halloween Special featuring the Destinies Radio Theater presentation of Seeing Ear Theatre's "Orson the Alien! The Untold Story Behind The War of the Worlds" originally recorded live on October 30, 1998, and starring Walter Koenig.



October 23, 2015 Christopher DeFilippis discusses the origins of Will-O-The-Wisp and Jack-O-The-Lantern in volume 2, number 164 of "DeFlip Side." At the I-Con 27 Cabaret, master of ceremonies John Sheehan tells a tale of Geeks vs. Jocks, and then introduces the Brobdingnagian Bards, who team up with the Boogie Knights for a show-closing set.

September 18, 2015 The Destinies Radio Theater presents part one of a two-part salute to the 50th anniversary of "Get Smart," with a full-length presentation of Don Adams' "Get Smart" album, originally released in 1966, and featuring Barbara Feldon as Agent 99 and Ed Platt as The Chief.

September 11, 2015 Celebrating the 50th anniversary of "Lost In Space" with music from the series and reminiscences by Jonathan Harris, Bill Mumy, Marta Kristen, Angela Cartwright, and Mark Goddard from the album "The Fantasy Worlds of Irwin Allen." Also, marking the 40th anniversary of "Space: 1999" with an adaptation of Johnny Byrne's "End of Eternity" on the Destinies Radio Theater.

    

September 4, 2015 In preparation for The Destinies Archives Mini-Marathon's upcoming serialization of the original Star Wars Radio Trilogy (beginning Thursday, September 10, 3:00-6:00 AM on www.wusb.fm), go behind the scenes with "The Making of Star Wars for Radio," originally aired on NPR in March, 1981.



August 28, 2015 Christopher DeFilippis discusses Brookhaven National Laboratories' National Synchrotron Light Source II in volume 2, number 162 of "DeFlip Side." In memory of actress Yvonne Craig, who passed away at the age of 78 on August 17th, Howard Margolin presents an encore presentation of an interview with her recorded in 1989 and originally aired on January 11, 1991.

July 17, 2015 Saluting the release of "Ant-Man" and preparing for the reboot of "Fantastic Four," the Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on John Ottman's score for "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," and the Destinies Radio Theater presents the first meeting of Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four in "Spider-Man: A Young Hero's Journey."
