DESTINIES - THE VOICE OF SCIENCE FICTION airs on Fridays at 11:30 PM on WUSB, 90.1 FM, the radio station of the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Hundreds of writers, artists, editors, actors, producers, directors, and musicians have appeared on the program since its debut in April, 1983. February 25, 2005 Live telephone interview with Gary Tigerman, author of "The Orion Protocol," featuring an excerpt from the novel read by Richard Dreyfuss.

March 11, 2005 Live, two-hour Soundtrack Spotlight Special, featuring a telephone interview with Robin Esterhammer, producer of Perseverance Records, and selections from the soundtracks of Prince Valiant, The Abominable Dr. Phibes, Dr. Phibes Rises Again, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and The Deadly Spawn.



April 8, 2005 Live, I-Con 24 Mystery Guest special featuring Eugene "Rod" Roddenberry, filksinger Adam Goss, and authors Keith R.A. DeCandido, John Kenneth Muir, and Terri Osborne. The longest-ever Destinies broadcast.

May 6, 2005 The Destinies Film Review Team (Howard Margolin, Jim Rowland, Steve Lowenthal, Christopher DeFilippis, and Phil Merkel) assembles live to discuss "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." Plus, the entirety of Destinies' 22nd anniversary special, which had been cut off the previous week, including encore readings by authors Justin Gustainis, Glenn Greenberg, Marc Vun Kannon, Scott Nicholson, Dr. David Katz, and Keith R.A. DeCandido, plus music by David Arkenstone, the Ventures, and Alan Parsons, as well as volume 2, number 45 of Christopher DeFilippis' "DeFlip Side."



May 20, 2005 Christopher DeFilippis reflects on "Star Wars," with a special appearance by Bill Murray, in volume 2, number 46 of "DeFlip Side." The Destinies Radio Theater presents "Star Wars Episode I Junior Jedi Training Manual."



June 24th, 2005 1940 radio interview with H. G. Wells and Orson Welles and a visit to the I-Con 24 Cabaret featuring Sudden Death



July 22, 2005 In memory of James Doohan, an encore presentation of an original "Star Trek" sketch, exclusively written for his appearance at the I-Con 5 Cabaret. Christopher DeFilippis discusses the state of spaceflight in volume 2, number 48 of "DeFlip Side." The improvisational comedy troupe "X Plus One" performs at the I-Con 24 Cabaret, introduced by Captain Zorikh.



July 29, 2005 "Graphic Detail" # 152 featuring a live, 90-minute phone interview with author Roger Stern, who discusses and reads from his novel "Justice League of America: Superman-The Never-ending Battle."



August 12, 2005 "Graphic Detail" # 153: Live telephone interview with Marv Wolfman, author of "Crisis on Infinite Earths," including a reading from his novelization of the epic maxi-series.


August 19, 2005 Joining in WUSB's Blues Marathon with Destinies' 7th annual Science Fiction Blues Special, featuring songs by Andreas Katsulas, Vaughn Armstrong, the Klaus Konig Orchestra, Rick Springfield, Huey Lewis and The News, John Carpenter, Louisiana Red, Sharon Abreu and Danny Elfman.



​September 30, 2005 The themes from "Far Out Space Nuts" and "Get Smart" are played in memory of, respectively, actors Bob Denver and Don Adams. Howard Margolin teams with Tony Tellado of "Sci-Fi Talk" to conduct a press conference with actress Jewel Staite at I-Con 24.



October 7, 2005 Live telephone interview with author Kevin J. Anderson who speaks about his many projects, and discusses and reads from his novel "The Martian War."



November 4, 2005 Live phone interview with author Ken Wisman, who discusses and reads from "Eden: The Novel."



November 11, 2005 Christopher DeFilippis reviews "It's Only Temporary" by Eric Shapiro and "The House of Storms" by Ian R. MacLeod in volume 2, number 52 of "DeFlip Side." Robin Williams reads Chris Van Allsburg's "Jumanji" in a special presentation of the Destinies Audiobook Sampler.



November 18, 2005 Live telephone interview with author Ann Tonsor Zeddies, including an excerpt from "Blood and Roses: A Jayne Taylor Novel."



December 2, 2005 Howard Margolin teams with Tony Tellado of "Sci-Fi Talk" for a press conference with Rockne S. O'Bannon, creator of "Farscape" and "Alien Nation." Plus, part one of the Lux Radio Theater adaptation of the 1953 film version of "War of the Worlds," originally broadcast on February 8, 1955.

December 9, 2005 Part two of the Lux Radio Theatre's adaptation of "War of the Worlds," starring Dana Andrews, originally broadcast in 1955, and based on the screenplay for the 1953 film version of the story.
