Hundreds of writers, artists, editors, actors, producers, directors, and musicians have appeared on the program since its debut in April, 1983. January 28, 1994 Ninth annual memorial to the crew of the space shuttle Challenger features two installments of NASA's "The Space Story," including a profile of astronaut John Young and the Cooperative Satellite Learning Project, designed to get high school students involved in the space program, as well as music from "Battlestar Galactica" and "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century." Michael Dorn and Marc Okrand discuss and introduce appropriate phrases for Klingon holidays in lesson 7 of "Power Klingon: Mastering the Language of Warriors." On the Destinies Radio Theater, learn the origin of the new Lex Luthor, and hear Clark Kent reveal his greatest secret to Lois Lane in episode 3 of "Superman Lives." Plus, Doomsday Joe breaks free from captivity as "The Destinies-Joe Evangelista Wars" continue.

  

February 11, 1994 Howard Margolin presents news about television, film, comics, and conventions in "Things to Come." The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Michael Gore's score for "Defending Your Life." NASA studies the Sun in an installment of "The Space Story." Michael Dorn and Marc Okrand teach Clipped Klingon, the language of war, in part 9 of "Power Klingon: Mastering the Language of Warriors." On the Destinies Radio Theater, the Justice League and the Man of Steel have their first encounter with Doomsday in episode 5 of "Superman Lives,"

  

February 4, 1994 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on George Fenton's score for "Groundhog Day." NASA technology transfer is showcased in a chapter of "The Space Story." Michael Dorn and Marc Okrand teach about Klingon mating rituals in lesson 8 of "Power Klingon: Mastering the Language of Warriors." On the Destinies Radio Theater, Superman and Supergirl discuss her involvement with the new Lex Luthor, and Doomsday begins his rampage in episode 4 of "Superman Lives."

  

February 18, 1994 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on "Robin Hood: Men In Tights." Discover how NASA technology is spun off for consumer use in an installment of "The Space Story." Learn how to tell a Klingon joke with Michael Dorn and Marc Okrand in lesson 10 of "Power Klingon: Mastering the Language of Warriors." Superman's fight to the death with Doomsday reaches its shocking conclusion in episode 6 of "Superman Lives."

  

February 25, 1994 Michael Dorn and Marc Okrand teach how to speak to a Klingon pet in lesson 11 of "Power Klingon: Mastering the Language of Warriors." Students at the International Space University plan the Internation Far Side Lunar Observatory in an installment of NASA's "The Space Story." Music from Vangelis' score for "Blade Runner." On the Destinies Radio Theater, the "Funeral for a Friend" begins in episode 7 of "Superman Lives." I-Con 13 Comics Coordinator Josh Justic joins Howard Margolin to provide the first I-Con 13 Update.

  

March 4, 1994 On the Destinies Radio Theater, Cadmus steals Superman's body from his tomb, and Jonathan Kent suffers a heart attack in episode 8 of "Superman Lives." Learn about the International Ultraviolet Explorer in an installment of NASA's "The Space Story." Michael Dorn and Marc Okrand present the final lesson in "Power Klingon: Mastering the Language of Warriors." Howard Margolin provides an update about the media guests attending I-Con 13.

  
March 11, 1994 Dr. Howard Margolin celebrates his 10th anniversary with the Voice of Science Fiction by reading Mike Resnick's "Excerpt from the Diary of Dr. Morris Finkelstein" from "The Further Adventures of Superman," and opens the Destinies Archives to reveal the interview that got him his job on Destinies (featuring special guest Jeanmarie Lally). Learn about Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 in an installment of NASA's "The Space Story." The spirit of Jonathan Kent tries to convince his adopted son to return to life in episode 9 of "Superman Lives" on the Destinies Radio Theater.



April 1, 1994 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Alex North's unused score for "2001: A Space Odyssey." NASA studies volcanoes as part of their "Mission to Planet Earth" in an installment of "The Space Story." Lex Luthor considers employing Superboy, while Professor Hamilton examines the Cyborg Superman in episode 12 of "Superman Lives," on the Destinies Radio Theater.

  

April 15, 1994 Destinies' live I-Con 13 Mystery Guest Special featuring Lolita Fatjo and Michael Cuneo from behind the scenes of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," "Star Trek" comics artist Arne Starr, Marvel Comics' editor and writer Glenn Greenberg, "The Chronic Rift" co-host Keith DeCandido (making his first appearance), with returning co-hosts Dr. Gary Halada, Ralph Schiano, and Glenn Hauman, joining host Dr. Howard Margolin in the WUSB studio.

April 29, 1994 Destinies celebrates its 11th anniversary with readings of short stories by Deborah Burros and Mike Resnick, an interview with Michael O'Hare, an installment of NASA's "The Space Story," lesson one of "Conversational Klingon" by Michael Dorn and Mark Okrand, episode 13 of "Superman Lives," and music by Mason Williams and Alan Parsons.

May 20, 1994 Shana David reads Peter David's "Take Your Daughter To Work Day." Michael Dorn and Marc Okrand teach the second lesson of "Conversational Klingon." The Reign of the Supermen continues in episode 14 of "Superman Lives."

  

May 27, 1994 The Destinies Debut Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Willam Ross and Barry Manilow's score for "Thumbelina." NASA's Exobiology Program plans to use geology to look for signs of life on Mars in an installment of "The Space Story." Michael Dorn and Marc Okrand introduce rudimentary grammar in lesson 3 of "Conversational Klingon." On the Destinies Radio Theater, the original Superman unites with Supergirl, Superboy, and the Man of Steel to battle Mongul in episode 15 of "Superman Lives."

  

July 8, 1994 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Marc Shaiman's score and songs for "Addams Family Values." Learn about how 1950s scans of the night sky are available as CD-ROMs in a chapter of NASA's "The Space Story." Learn phrases used in a Klingon bar when Michael Dorn and Marc Okrand present the final lesson in "Conversational Klingon." On the Destinies Radio Theater, Aquaman must save the world by bringing about "The Defeat of the Dehydrator."

  

July 22, 1994 Saluting the 25th anniversary of Apollo 11 with two chapters of NASA's "The Space Story." On the Destinies Radio Theater, Steve Austin, the Six Million Dollar Man meets the King with "The Iron Heart." Plus moon-related music by ELO and Peter Davsion.



July 29, 1994 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Basil Poledouris' score for "The Hunt for Red October." Learn about the discoveries of the Hubble Space Telescope in an installment of NASA's "The Space Story." The Destinies Radio Theater presents episode 1 of "Star Wars: Dark Empire," adapted from the Dark Horse Comics mini-series. Plus, news from Marvel Comics.

    

August 5, 1994 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on David Arkenstone's score for "Robot Wars." Learn about the docking of the Space Shuttle Atlantis with the Mir Space Station in an installment of NASA's "The Space Story." The crew of the Millennium Falcon arrives at Coruscant in episode 2 of "Star Wars: Dark Empire" on the Destinies Radio Theater.

    

August 12, 1994 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Vangelis' score for "Blade Runner." Learn about the Cockpit Weather Information Needs System in an installment of NASA's "The Space Story." Complications arise for the Rebels as they prepare to leave Coruscant in episode 3 of "Star Wars: Dark Empire."

    

August 19, 1994 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Jerry Goldsmith's score for "The Shadow." Learn about the Fast Auroral Snapshot Explorer in an installment of NASA's "The Space Story." The Rebels have an emergency meeting in episode four of "Star Wars: Dark Empire" on the Destinies Radio Theater.

    

August 26, 1994 Music from Brad Fiedel's score for "True Lies" and Yanni's "End of August." NASA discusses the Shoemaker-Levy 9 comet in "The Space Story." Luke Skywalker learns how the Emperor survived the destruction of the second Death Star, and Princess Leia and Han Solo debate whether to go after Luke in episode 5 of "Star Wars: Dark Empire." Plus, agent Double O.D., the man with the license to kill optometrically, battles Joe Evangelista as "The Destinies-Joe Evangelista Wars" continue.

  

September 2, 1994 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Philippe Sarde's score for "Quest For Fire." Learn about how Stereotactic Large-Core Needle Biopsy can improve the diagnosis of breast cancer in a chapter of NASA's "The Space Story." On the Destinies Radio Theater, the battle at Mon Calamari continues, and Leia uses the Force to try to contact Luke Skywalker in episode 6 of "Star Wars: Dark Empire."

Learn how Russian and American engineers cooperate on developing next-generation supersonic passenger aircraft, in a chapter of NASA's "The Space Story." And, on the Destinies Radio Theater, the crew of the Millennium Falcon speeds to Mon Calamari to aid in the battle with the Imperial World Devastators in episode 13 of "Star Wars:Dark Empire."

  

November 4, 1994 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Jerry Goldsmith's score for "Outland." Learn about the Mars Global Surveyor and the Mars Pathfinder in a chapter of NASA's "The Space Story." On the Destinies Radio Theater, Princess Leia confers with Bodo Bas within the Jedi Holocron, and the Emperor threatens Pinnacle Base in episode 14 of "Star Wars: Dark Empire."

  

November 11, 1994 Learn how NASA is using virtual reality to train astronauts in an installment of "The Space Story." Yanni performs "Looking Glass" from his album "Keys to Imagination," as heard in the Wonders of Life area at Epcot Center. On the Destinies Radio Theater, The Emperor and Princess Leia battle for the soul of Luke Skywalker in episode 15 of "Star Wars: Dark Empire."

  
November 18, 1994 Howard Margolin channels George Takei and Patrick Stewart to host this salute to the opening of "Star Trek: Generations," with "Star Trek: The Crier in Emptiness" on the Destinies Radio Theater. Learn about the phenomenon of the Wake Vortex and how NASA is trying to reduce the cost of spaceflight by creating reusable boosters in 2 episodes of "The Space Story." From the music of the Wonders of Life at Disney's Epcot Center, Ray Lynch performs "Celestial Soda Pop," and "The Oh of Pleasure."



​November 25, 1994 The Destinies Radio Theater presents the Shadow, as he tries to smash an illegal alien smuggling ring and learns that "Death Rides High." Plus, outtakes from an interview with writer Elliot S. Maggin, recorded at I-Con IX.



December 2, 1994 The Destinies Film Review Team (Howard Margolin, Ralph Schiano, Glenn Greenberg, and Joe Evangelista) assembles live to discuss "Star Trek: Generations" in a special hour-plus broadcast. And, find out if Joe will face the same fate as Captain Kirk as the Destinies-Joe Evangelista Wars continue.



December 9, 1994 Checkfield performs "Carousel (A Day in the Park)," "Summer Shuffle," and "Sundial" from their album "Distant Thunder" and the Wonders of Life area at Epcot Centre. December 16, 1994 The Destinies Radio Theater presents "Dimension X: Perigi's Wonderful Dolls," as originally aired on June 5, 1955. An army colonel's wife and daughter find Toto, a talking doll, at Mr. Perigi's toy shop. But, when they bring Toto home, and strange things begin to happen around the house, who is really at fault?



December 23, 1994 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on James Horner's score for "The Pagemaster." Learn about NASA's Astronomical Studies for Extrasolar Planetary Systems in a chapter of "The Space Story." "Graphic Detail" # 79: Part one of an interview with former DC Comics writer and editor Elliot S. Maggin, recorded at I-Con IX.
