Hundreds of writers, artists, editors, actors, producers, directors, and musicians have appeared on the program since its debut in April, 1983. January 11, 1991 Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the "Batman" TV series with selections from the original soundtrack album, and an exclusive interview with actress Yvonne Craig, who played Batgirl, recorded at the 1989 Creation Summer Expo.

 

January 18, 1991 Music from Danny Elfman's score for "Edward Scissorhands." NASA studies Saturn's Great White Spot in an installment of "The Space Story." L. Ron Hubbard's "Mission: Earth" is dramatized on the Destinies Audiobook Sampler.

  

February 1, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Danny Elfman's "Dick Tracy" score. NASA studies Hubble Space Telescope images of Saturn in "The Space Story." Dave MacPherson previews movies in "Things to Come," then reads Joe Haldeman's story poem "DX."

  

February 8, 1991 Celebrating Captain America's 50th anniversary with Howard Margolin's reading of "Captain America Foils The Traitor's Revenge," the first text piece written by Stan Lee, as well as Captain America and the Falcon in "And a Phoenix Shall Arise" on the Destinies Radio Theater. Plus, Dave MacPherson discusses upcoming books and films in "Things To Come." And, learn about the National Space Society in an installment of NASA's "The Space Story."



February 15, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Danny Elfman's score for "Edward Scissorhands." Dave MacPherson offers "Things to Come" and reads Jane Yolen's story "Angelica." Carl Sagan and Doug Stetson discuss the search for extra-terrestrial life in NASA's "The Space Story."

  

February 22, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Jerry Goldsmith's score for "Total Recall." Learn NASA's plans to study the surface of Mars in an installment of "The Space Story." John Cornetto interviews Gary K. Wolf at Boskone 1989. Dave MacPherson reads Steve Perry's "A Few Minutes in the Undead Hunter's Gunshop."

  

March 1, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Leonard Roseman's score for "Robocop 2." NASA studies conditions in Antarctica to prepare for the search for life on Mars in an installment of "The Space Story." Dave MacPherson previews upcoming books in "Things To Come," then reads Harlan Ellison's "Prince Myshkin, and Hold the Relish."

  

March 8, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Fred Karlin's score for "Westworld." Dave MacPherson reviews Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle, and Michale Flynn's novel "Fallen Angels" in "Things To Come," and reads George Alec Effinger's short story, "Riddle of the Czars." Plus, learn about the Inertial Upper Stage propulsion system in an installment of NASA's "The Space Story."



March 15th, 1991 Howard Margolin celebrates his 7th anniversary with the Voice of Science Fiction by reading Richard Matheson's "Pattern for Survival," and playing music from Tangerine Dream, Sara Hickman, and Trevor Jones. Also, Joey Scarbury's "Theme from the Greatest American Hero," in honor of that show's 10th anniversary. Plus, NASA's "The Space Story," and Dave MacPherson provides an I-Con X Update in "Things to Come."

 

March 22, 1991 Dave MacPherson relates SF news in "Things To Come." NASA scientists study images of the moon made by the Galileo spacecraft in a chapter of "The Space Story." The Destinies Radio Theater presents part one of The Firesign Theater's "Everything You Know Is Wrong."

April 5, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Danny Elfman's score for "Batman." Learn how NASA's Helmet-Mounted Display Program allows pilots to fly planes without windows in "The Space Story." Jack Devine provides an I-Con space report and update. John Cornetto interviews David A. Kyle at Lunacon. Sharon Volin reads Stanislaw Lem's "Tale of The Computer That Fought A Dragon."

  

April 12, 1991 Full-length preview of I-Con X, with Vice-Chairperson Jill Rappaport joining Howard Margolin to list the guests and events for Stony Brook's convention of science fiction, fact, and fantasy.



April 26, 1991 Destinies celebrates its 8th anniversary with an hour-long retrospective of I-Con X, featuring Howard Margolin, Glenn Greenberg, Dave MacPherson, Jill Rappaport, Bill Burns, Renee Rossignoli, Jeff Nagel, and Arun Seraphin assembling live in the WUSB studio. Also, the Mechanizer makes its appearance as "The Destinies-Joe Evangelista Wars" continue.



May 3, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on John Barry's score for "The Legend of the Lone Ranger," featuring vocals by Merle Haggard. Dave MacPherson relates "Things to Come" in books and films. Learn about NASA's Advanced Life Support Technology Program, and its plans for long-term missions in a chapter of "The Space Story." Jesse Flint interviews artist N. Taylor Blanchard at Lunacon.

  



May 10, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Alexander Courage's score for the original "Star Trek" pilot, "The Cage." Learn about the Gamma Ray Observatory in an installment of NASA's "The Space Story." Dave MacPherson reads Theodore Sturgeon's "The Heart." Spider-Man meets "The Mad Hatter of Manhattan" on the Destinies Radio Theater.



May 17, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Alexander Courage's score for the second "Star Trek" pilot, "Where No Man Has Gone Before." Dave McPherson lists "Things To Come" in movies, TV, books, and conventions, then reads Mike Resnick's "Malish." NASA discusses the HL-20 lifting body in "The Space Story."



May 24, 1991 Bobby Enriquez plays his "Wild Piano" version of "Classical Gas." Samples of the introductions for many of the science fiction, super-hero, adventure, and horror series from Radio's Golden Age on the album "Themes Like Old Times." Learn about NASA's "High Alpha Research Project" in a chapter of "The Space Story." ELO performs "The Way Life's Meant to Be" and "Epilogue" from the album "Time."

  
May 31, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight features music and dialogue from "WarGames." Dave MacPherson reviews Gahan Wilson's novel "Everybody's Favorite Duck." Learn about the Hubble Space Telescope in a chapter of NASA's "The Space Story." Rob Barkan reads his short story "Star Schlep."

  

June 14, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on John Barry's score for "The Black Hole." Learn how the crew of the Space Shuttle Discovery prepared for the deployment of the Hubble Space Telescope in an installment of NASA's "The Space Story." The Destinies Radio Theater presents part one of "Walt Disney Productions' Story of the Black Hole," narrated by Percy Rodriguez and featuring dialogue, music, and sound effects from the original film soundtrack.

  

June 21, 1991 Part two of the Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight on John Barry's score for "The Black Hole," as well as the conclusion of "Walt Disney Productions' Story of The Black Hole" on the Destinies Radio Theater. Dr. Carl Sagan reflects on the completion of the initial reconnaissance of the solar system in the wake of Voyager 1's photograph of the entire system in an installment of NASA's "The Space Story."

June 28, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Miklos Rozsa's score for "Time After Time." John Cornetto speaks with Linda DeLaurentis of the Space Frontier Society. The Voyager spacecraft explore the giant planets of the solar system in an installment of NASA's "The Space Story." Dave MacPherson reviews James Morrow's novel "Only Begotten Daughter." Howard Margolin delivers comics industry news, and John Cornetto interviews writer Chris Claremont in "Graphic Detail" # 58.

  

July 5, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on James Horner's score for "*batteries not included." John Cornetto interviews author Linda Bushyager at Lunacon. NASA talks about the development of flight simulators in an installment of "The Space Story." The Destinies Radio Theater begins its serialization of David Ossman's "How Time Flys" a Hi-Fi Sci-Fi Comedy starring the Firesign Theater, with part one, "Mark's Awakening."

  



July 12, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on John Barry's score for "Somewhere In Time." John Cornetto interviews Ginjer Buchanan, Senior Editor for Ace/Berkley Publishing. Learn about NASA's TDRSS satellites in an installment of "The Space Story." On the Destinies Radio Theater, Mark is brought up to date on American history from 1950-1995 in part two of David Ossman's "How Time Flys: The Years In Your Ears."

  



July 19, 1991 John Madonia and Howard Margolin interview Dylan Skolnick, about the New Community Cinema's 12th annual Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Film Festival. On the Destinies Radio Theater, David Ossman's "How Time Flys" continues, with part 3, "Tweeny and 'The Welcome Home.'"

  
July 26, 1991 The Destinies Radio Theater presents parts 4 and 5 of David Ossman's "How Time Flys." Learn about NASA's Gravity Probe B in a chapter of "The Space Story." Bill Burns and Howard Margolin review "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey." Robbie Robb's "In Time," from the soundtrack of "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure." August 2, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Jerry Goldsmith's score for "Runaway." NASA explores the origins of the Moon in a chapter of "The Space Story." John Cornetto interviews author Laurence M. Janifer at Lunacon 1991. On the Destinies Radio Theater, David Ossman's "How Time Flys" continues with episode 6, "Mark, Mr. Motion, and the Memory Loops."

August 16, 1991 Destinies' 6th annual comedy special featuring Dennis Daniel and Steve Morrison's "Star Trek VI: The Search For Depends Diapers," recorded at I-Con X, and "Invitation to Annihilation," episode 12 of "The Fantastic Adventures of Phil A. Delphia."



August 23, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Michael Kamen's score for "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen." NASA uses satellite imaging to study earthquake fault lines in an installment of "The Space Story." John Cornetto interviews artist Sheila O. Barrera. "The Origin of the Lone Ranger" is revealed on the Destinies Radio Theater.

August 30, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on James Horner's score for "The Rocketeer." Learn how NASA's Magellan spacecraft was able to provide a detailed map of the surface of Venus. On the Destinies Radio Theater, "He Finds Silver" in part 2 of "The Adventures of the Lone Ranger."

  

September 6, 1991 Celebrating "Star Trek's" 25th anniversary with a Soundtrack Spotlight on James Horner's score for "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" and an interview with "Star Trek" comics inker Arne Starr in the 59th edition of "Graphic Detail." Plus, learn about the Orbiting Solar Laboratory in a chapter of NASA's "The Space Story."



September 27, 1991 "Graphic Detail" # 60: Celebrating the 30th anniversary of "Fantastic Four" by speaking with co-creator Stan Lee in an exclusive interview recorded at I-Con X. Then, learn "The Way It Began" for the Fantastic Four on the Destinies Radio Theater.

  

October 4th, 1991 Saluting the 32nd anniversary of "The Twilight Zone" with music by Rush and the Manhattan Transfer. Celebrating Sting's 40th birthday with The Police's "Walking On The Moon." Dave MacPherson marks his 22nd birthday with his original short story "Present Time." John Cornetto interviews author Carol Severance at Worldcon. On the Destinies Radio Theater, in part 5 of The Adventures of the Lone Ranger, "He Meets The War Horse."



October 11, 1991 John Cornetto interviews author Eric Raymond at the 1991 WorldCon. Craig Huxley performs his version of the "Star Trek Theme," and his original music for "Genesis Project". NASA introduces the concepts of Telepresence and Virtual Reality in a chapter of "The Space Story." Dave MacPherson reads Geoffrey A. Landis' "Jamais Vu." In part 6 of the Destinies Radio Theater serialization of "The Adventures of The Lone Ranger," "He Saves the Booneville Gold." Destinies' celebrity guests offer their comments about Joe in the 8th anniversary edition of "The Destinies-Joe Evangelista Wars."

​October 25,1991 Walter Murphy performs the "Theme from Star Trek." NASA searches for Atlantis in a chapter of "The Space Story." Jeff Lynne's "Wild Times" and music by Michael Kamen from "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves." John Cornetto interviews author Paul Kidd at the 1991 Worldcon. The Android Sisters perform "Invasion!" Episode 2 of "Dishpan Fantasy."



November 1, 1991 9th annual Halloween Special, featuring David MacPherson reading Donald Wollheim's "Give Her Hell," Chris DeBurgh performing "Spanish Train," Howard Margolin reading Richard Matheson's "Blood Son," Jesse Flint reading Parke Godwin's "A Matter of Taste," episode 3 of "Dishpan Fantasy," as well as "Love Me, Dracula" and "Spooky" from Meco's "Moondancer" album.

  

November 8, 1991 In memory of Gene Roddenberry, an encore presentation of "The Star Trek Dream" from the album "Inside Star Trek" plus a Soundtrack Spotlight on James Horner's score for "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock." Dave MacPherson reviews books in "Things To Come." On the Destinies Radio Theater, Dora searches for dishwashing liquid in episode four of "Dishpan Fantasy."



November 22, 1991 The Destinies Film Review Team (Howard Margolin, Jim Rowland, Steve Lowenthal) discusses "Highlander 2: The Quickening." The Timelords perform "Doctorin' The TARDIS." NASA's J. R. Thompson is profiled in an installment of "The Space Story." The Android Sisters speak on "Telephone Wires in the Tropics." Plus, Dora asks "Am I Dreaming" in episode 6 of "Dishpan Fantasy."

  

November 29, 1991 Remembering Freddie Mercury with music from "Metropolis," "Flash Gordon," and "Highlander." NASA technology is used in the Fetal Heart Monitor in The Space Story. The Android Sisters perform "Huh?" Aldo finds himself "Floating Like A Fairy" in episode 7 of "Dishpan Fantasy."

  

December 6, 1991 The Destinies Soundtrack Spotlight shines on Leonard Rosenman's score for "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home." NASA's Cassini Mission explores Titan in "The Space Story." Sharan Volin interviews author John Lee at I-Con X. The Android Sisters reminisce about "Ray-Dee-Oh." Find out "What A Hairy Fellow" Aldo has become in part 8 of "Dishpan Fantasy."
