Hundreds of writers, artists, editors, actors, producers, directors, and musicians have appeared on the program since its debut in April, 1983. January 22, 1988 The Destinies Film Review Team (John Madonia, Brian McGuinness, and Patrick Lonergan) discuss "Return of the Living Dead Part II" and "Good Morning, Vietnam." Howard Margolin interviews Marvel Comics editor-in-chief and "Thor" writer Tom DeFalco in "Graphic Detail."

  
January 29, 1988 Destinies' third annual Challenger memorial, featuring Howard Margolin reading Isaac Asimov's short story "The Last Shuttle." Plus, the Destinies Radio Theater presents parts one and two of "Doctor Who: Slipback" starring Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant.

February 5, 1988 Destinies Radio Theater Double Feature: Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant star as the Doctor and Peri in episodes 2 and 3 of "Doctor Who: Slipback." In memory of the crew of the Space Shuttle Challenger, Howard Margolin reads Isaac Asimov's "The Last Shuttle." The Big O performs "Monster Mash" from the soundtrack of "Return of the Living Dead Part II." Hal Clement and John Madonia preview I-Con VII.

  
February 26th, 1988 Destinies celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Superman by presenting an interview with Superman editor Mike Carlin in "Graphic Detail," and also a selection of Radio Drama pieces (Superman episode 1 and Jules Feiffer's "Superman") and short stories (Larry Niven's "Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex," read by Mike Botwin and Jim Steranko's "Exile at the Edge of Eternity," read by Howard Margolin) which span the history of Superman and Destinies as well!

    

April 1, 1988 At Lunacon 1988, John Madonia interviews authors Harry Harrison and Isaac Asimov, and historian Jay Kay Klein. John Cornetto interviews costume contest winners Wendy Weigert and Animal X. Howard Margolin reads Isaac Asimov's short story "How it Happened." Plus, John Madonia introduces a duet between Howard and Joe as "The Destinies-Joe Evangelista Wars" continue.

  
April 8, 1988 John Madonia concludes his interview with author Harry Harrison, recorded at Lunacon 1988, then provides a preview of the guests and events scheduled for I-Con 7.


April 15, 1988 I-Con 7 Mystery Guest Special featuring "Star Trek" historians Richard Arnold and Allan Asherman live in the WUSB studio. Learn about Richard's responsibilities in the "Star Trek" office, and hear his opinions about why Wesley Crusher was such a controversial character. Allan discusses the production of "The Star Trek Interview Book," and his earlier work, "The Star Trek Compendium." Plus, Richard and Allan join hosts Howard Margolin, Glenn Hauman, and Glen Semenick for "The Destinies-Joe Evangelista Wars: The Next Generation."

  

April 29, 1988 Destinies celebrates its 5th anniversary with "The Five Hosts." Featuring readings by Gary Halada, John Madonia, and Howard Margolin; interviews with former Destinies host Fred Coulter and 7th Doctor Who Sylvester McCoy; and music by Howard Weinstein, Mason Williams, and Gravity's Rainbow. Also features time-warped appearances by Destinies co-creator Mike Botwin.



May 6, 1988 John Madonia presents music to prepare for final exams, including selections from the soundtracks of "Jaws," "Innerspace," "Underdog," "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom," "Heavy Metal," "George of the Jungle," and "Transformers-The Movie," as well as songs by the Talking Heads, The 3 Stooges, and Louie Armstrong.

  
May 13, 1988 Kevin Conod reads "And So On And So On" by James Tiptree, Jr. The Destinies Film Review Team (John Madonia, Brian McGuinness, Kevin Conod, Dr. Robert Downes, and Patrick Lonergan) assembles to discuss "Beetlejuice" and the home video release of "Innerspace."

  
June 24, 1988 "Graphic Detail" # 39: Part one of a two-part interview with comics writer and artist Mike Grell, recorded at Creation Part II in February, 1988. Mike discusses his opinions about the "Sable" TV series and his work on "Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters." Gravity's Rainbow performs their song "Hunter." Plus, Joe is accused of sexual misconduct as "The Destinies-Joe Evangelista Wars" continue.

  

July 1, 1988 The Destinies Film Review Team (John Madonia, Brian McGuinness, Pat Lonergan) discusses "Poltergeist 3" and "Red Heat." "Graphic Detail" #40: Part 2 of Howard Margolin's interview with writer/artist Mike Grell. Also hosted by John Cornetto.

  

July 8, 1988 John Cornetto interviews Donald and Elsie Wollheim, pubishers of DAW Books at Shorecon 1988. The Destinies crew celebrates John Cornetto's birthday. Howard Margolin interviews artist Bob Eggleton at I-Con VII. The Destinies Film Review Team (John Madonia, John Cornetto, Pat Lonergan) discuss "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" Howard teaches Joe the difference between optometrists and ophthalmologists as "The Destinies-Joe Evangelista Wars" continue.

  
July 15, 1988 John Madonia introduces an encore of the story "Short Circuits," written and read by Darryl Zauner, and presented in his memory. Howard Weinstein performs "Storyteller" at the I-Con VII Cabaret. "Graphic Detail" # 41: Howard Margolin and Jim Rowland interview writer Peter David, making his first Destinies appearance.

  

July 22, 1988 "Graphic Detail" # 42: Part 2 of Howard Margolin's first interview with Peter David. Gene Roddenberry speaks with Mark Lenard, in character on the album "Inside Star Trek," about "Sarek's Son, Spock."

  

July 29th, 1988 Interviews with Allan Asherman and Mark Lenard as well as John Madonia's review of Allen Asherman's "The Star Trek Interview Book."



August 19, 1988 "Graphic Detail" # 44: Howard Margolin interviews editor Julius Schwartz and writer Elliot S. Maggin at the Golden Island Comic Show Superman Spectacular.



September 9, 1988 John Madonia reviews Frederick Pohl's "Chernobyl." Kevin Conod and Brian McGuinness perform Barry Longyear's "Twist Ending." From "Inside Star Trek," Gene Roddenberry explains "The Star Trek Philosophy." Howard Margolin interviews actor David Prowse at the Long Island Creation Convention.

  

October 7, 1988 John Cornetto interviews author Martha Soukup at the 1988 WorldCon. John Madonia reviews the anthologies "Weird Tales #1" and "Year's Best Horror Stories 15th Edition" in "Things to Come." Howard Margolin interviews "Star Trek: The Next Generation" writer and executive story editor Tracy Torme at Creation Convention.

 

December 2, 1988 Kitaro performs "Milky Way" from his album "Tenku." John Cornetto interviews author Ann C. Crispin at Philcon. The Destinies Film Review Team (John Madonia and Jesse Flint) discusses "Cocoon: The Return," and "Scrooged." Jesse Flint reads "Little Red Riding Hood Revisited" by Russell Baker.

  

December 9, 1988 John Cornetto interviews author S. N. Lewitt at Philcon 1988. Kitaro performs "Mysterious Encounter" from his album "The Light of the Spirit." John Madonia reads David J. Schow's short story "One for the Horrors."
