Hundreds of writers, artists, editors, actors, producers, directors, and musicians have appeared on the program since its debut in April, 1983. April 27, 1983 The original Destinies pilot, digitally re-edited to modern standards. Gary Halada reviews L. Ron Hubbard's "Battlefield: Earth." Mike Botwin interviews Dr. Isaac Asimov, shortly before his appearance at I-Con 2. Plus, Synergy performs "Paradox Part 1: Largo, New World Symphony" from his album "Sequencer."



September 6, 1983 Historic broadcast: Destinies begins as a weekly series, with Mike Botwin reviewing the genre films of the summer of 1983. An excerpt from Vangelis' "Heaven and Hell-Part 1" from the soundtrack of "Cosmos." Gary Halada reviews "Against Infinity" by Gregory Benford. Kraftwerk performs "Radioactivity."

  

October 25, 1983 In Destinies' first Halloween Special, Gary Halada and Mike Botwin present the complete broadcast of The Mercury Theater on the Air's adaptation of "The War of the Worlds," originally aired on October 30, 1938. Plus, Mike reads an excerpt from writer Howard Koch's "The Panic Broadcast."


November 8, 1983 Mike Botwin reads "The Last Question" by Isaac Asimov and introduces episode 2 of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," in which Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect find themselves onboard the Vogon Constructor Ship.

  

November 15, 1983 Gary Halada and Mike Botwin discuss their favorite science fiction films. The Alan Parsons Project performs "Psychobabble." Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect are subjected to Vogon Poetry in part 3 of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy." Plus, Gary provides a Vangelis-inspired introduction for Joe Evangelista.

  
November 22, 1983 Gary Halada interviews Dick Preston of Star Foundation International at Philcon 1983. Mike Botwin reviews the TV movie "The Day After." Arthur Dent and Ford Prefect find themselves aboard the starship "Heart of Gold" in part 4 of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."
